I’m teaching the song “Turn the World Around” at summer camp this week, and I remembered the Top 10 Tuesday blog post I wrote about it so long ago. For today’s Top 10 Tuesday, I’m bringing back this old post, because it’s such a great song to work with. Enjoy & happy music making with your kids this summer! Together, we can “turn the world around!”

Happy Top 10 Tuesday, everyone! Yesterday was Earth Day, and I was inspired by it. So, I thought it would be great to share a wonderful “Earth Day” themed activity for all of the Earth mamas and their families. To begin, you will need a few items:
(1) The song “Turn the World Around” by Harry Belafonte. I love the video of him singing it with the Muppets, because he tells the story of what inspired him to write the song. He was deep in the heart of Guinea and was listening to a storyteller tell about how the world is controlled by the “fire” (sun) and the water. When you put them together, it “turns the world around.” People, in a sense, are like the world, because when we really take time to get know each other, we, too, can “turn the world around.” It’s a…
