Pete Seeger

RIP to man who influenced everyone else.  His music sparked so much interest and inspiration.  Pete Seeger recorded “Tzena Tzena” bringing it to American popularity, and he wasn’t even Jewish.  Pete Seeger who wrote songs that you thought were written by other people, but no…they were Pete’s.  Songs like “If I Had a Hammer,”  ”Turn, Turn, Turn,” “Where Have All the Flowers Gone,” and “Wimoweh.”  Feeling sad that he passed away this morning, but I’m also feeling extremely blessed that he was alive for 94 years and gave incredible music for generations past and yet to come.

My song of the day is “Tzena Tzena,” because even though he didn’t write this one, I always found it so touching that he was so connected with this song.  Click HERE to hear an Israeli classic made popular by an American legend and his band, The Weavers.  RIP, Pete.  Your amazing legacy lives on!
