Washing Dishes, #1182

Posted on the 12 May 2015 by Juliezaz1 @juliezaz1

I haven’t written in response to “The Daily Prompt” in awhile, and so today when I clicked on their site and saw this:

Those Dishes Won’t Do Themselves

I knew I could write a 20 page essay on the topic!  Omg!  Dishes are the freakin’ bane of my existence.  There is some sort of magical evil force that belongs to my sink.  It doesn’t matter how long I spend washing, scrubbing, drying and putting away, somehow I’ll turn my back for a mere few moments and new dishes will reappear.  For instance, Exhibit A!

Dishes

After dinner last night, the dishwasher was emptied and then loaded again.  The sink was scoured and spotless.  How could these new dishes possibly emerge so quickly.  C’mon family, help a Mama out!  Put your damn dishes in the dishwasher.  I guess at least there’s a small bright side – those dirty dishes do make it to the sink at least.

The only solace in this matter is that I know I’m not alone in the dish washing nightly trauma.  I know I’m not alone, because Jack Johnson even wrote a song about this topic.  Enjoy his lovely music for a not so lovely topic and, blog readers, read this and urge your family to lend a helping hand!
