Welcome to the New Year! I had a blessed 2011 full of many amazing memories starting from a New Year's in Paris to an unbelievable summer with friends in Michigan and Cape Cod, to graduating college! 2011 was full and fantastic, and I am hoping for a similar 2012!
SisterT, Mrs. Darcy, and I went on a great shopping trip to Chicago for a few days after Christmas. I have to admit, the sales were nothing like years prior. We did find unbelievable deals at Bloomingdales and Nordstrom's Rack.
We were looking at this MK Watch that was on sale for SisterT's boyfriend, but we passed for an even better find from BradsDeals.Com.
Tory Burch Flip-Flop Wedges for $14.99!!!Best deal of the trip, hands down. I can't wait to wear these over the summer.
Other Fun Finds...
On our way home we went to the Oakbrook Shopping Center in a Chicago suburb (fun mall!). Anthropology had this candle ablaze, and it smelt unbelievably lovely. I highly recommend this candle for a house-warming or birthday gift.
Nordstrom's Downtown had a really unique collection of headbands. I thought this one would look whimsical with Lilly dresses in the spring and summer months.
Mrs. Darcy loves Grand Lux Cafe... we ate way too much there. We had dessert at lunch... we always get the beignets when we go. If you are craving sugar, you could have the beignets as your meal.
The shopping part of our trip was quite enjoyable, but I was most happy to spend time with my mom and sister. We are always busy when we are home that it was nice to get away and enjoy ourselves.
As for the end of 2011, I spent it looking at Christmas lights. I had to take a photo of this following home because they decorated their front windows as if they were NYC storefronts. They had moving Santas, hanging snow flakes, and active scenes.
Little Sydney french-braided my hair. I still can't french-braid my own hair!
At midnight, the BFFS and I sat on the roof of their home and watched fireworks our neighbors were setting off. We all promised each other that this would be our last NYE staying home.
As the clock struck 12 and we were all yelling "Happy New Year," the BFFs' youngest puppy decided to jump out the window and almost off the roof, luckily Sydney caught the crazy dog, and all ended well! Here's the exact moment...
The first thing I did in 2012 was download an absolutely addicting App, Hipstamatic. Here is a photo shoot of Darling Raquel using the stunning downloaded lenses from Hipstamatic. I highly recommend this App for the photo enthusiast.
My favorite.
Reminds of vintage "ghost" photos.
Darling girl!
Happy New Year Friends! Thank you so much for reading my blog. I appreciate all of your comments and input, and look forward to hearing from you in the coming year. Wishing you a year full of happiness, health, and success!
