When I’m Gone, #1151

Why is it that I worry about my husband so much when I’m gone?  I worry that all the extra added responsibilities will be too much for him.  Will he be able to help the kids get ready in the morning for school, manage their homework, feed the pets, cook the dinners – all of it.  There is so much to do in day to day life, and for some reason, I can’t imagine he has any idea how much of a job it really all is.

Then there’s the flip side. When he goes away, I’m not even sure he thinks of any of this.  It’s not that I don’t think he cares, because I know he does – so much!  For some reason, however, I just think I’m able to have a handle on the run of the house better.  (Daughter’s math homework aside!)

I keep trying to think of all the many details ahead that I can prep him for.  I just don’t want him to be shell shocked in my absence.

So, my song today is from Pitch Perfect.  Anna Kendrick really started a trend a couple of years ago with her “Cup song,” which is actually called “When I’m Gone.”  I can’t wait for the new Pitch Perfect movie to come out, but for now – it is a perfect soundtrack for my hubby’s impending necessity of holding down the fort on his own.  Good luck, babe!  I’m a phone call away.
