When The Mind Draws A Blank...

Posted on the 05 November 2013 by Sreesha @petrichor_blore

I wanted to post something today. But I could not think of a single topic. I received some suggestions. Friends asked me to do a post titled “Should you go back to your ex?” I thought of writing about “Why should women change their surnames after marriage?” Some other topics that came to mind were “Racism in India” (fueled up after reading the September issue of Readers’ Digest), “Bullying in school” or about the time I was unofficially sort-of-demoted at work (in fact, the last two topics have been in my WiP folder forever now!) But the words refused to come. Then I realized, it is all about having an aim (or a target). In September, I had an aim. I wanted my 100th post to appear on the 26th. When I decided this, I had just a few days and a big gap to cover. But I just knew I had to get to my 100th. The topics came oh-so-naturally; once a day, twice a day, but they just kept pouring in to my mind. I reached my target of course, and posted my 100th post at exactly 12 am on 26th September. As of now, I feel like someone who needs to speak. But I do not know about what. So I am just going to patiently wait until I think of a topic or someone inadvertently plants a topic in my head.
