WIAW & a Space Cadet

Last night I lost my mind. I left work around 5:15 to head to the gym. As I was turning out of my office, I literally ran into the car in front of me. I thought he had pulled out. I was turning right and looking left to see if any cars were coming. The coast was clear so I accelerated… right into the car in front of me. WTF. Who does that? At first, I didn’t even realize I ran into a car, I heard a loud bang and was like, “what was that?” That’s when I realized I hit a car. Thankfully, there was no real damage (besides my ego) and the guy was super nice.  I scuffed up his bumper but he said not to worry about it.  Phew.

I continued on to the gym trying to figure out where my brain disappeared to, only to find out it would take longer than I hoped for it to return. When I got to the gym, I changed into my workout clothes and realized I left my fitbook in the car. I put my jacket back on and reached for my keys, but they were no where to be found.

I retraced my steps, 3 times, trying to figure out where I could of lost them. I dug threw my bag, took everything out, unfoled and then re-folded my clothes, searched the pockets, and found nothing. So now, I was locked out of my car, fitbook-less which meant I didn’t know what Live Fit workout I was supposed to do, and totally overwhelmed by my mindlessness.

However, I did not give up. I called Vinnie to bring me my spare keys from home, and found the scheduled workout on my iPhone. I hustled through my workout so I would be done by the time Vinnie got there. Before I went out to the lobby to meet Vinnie, I did one last sweep of the gym, and FOUND my keys! no joke. They were hanging on a hook, I have no idea how they got there, because I swear I looked.  I quickly called Vinnie to tell him he didn’t need to come anymore, but he was already on his way. He patiently said “ok good, I am glad you found them, see you at home.” If it was me, I would of been so annoyed that I had to go through the whole process for nothing.

On my drive home, I wanted to get Vinnie something to say thank you for putting up with me! I got him his favorite Ben & Jerry’s ice cream! But as the day would have it. I had to go to two different stores in order to find the right flavor. Ugh

After a crazy evening, at least I get to celebrate Wednesday with WIAW! Thanks Jenn for organizing the party.

I ate a banana immediately upon waking with some Pukka tea.
I ate an apple on the way to a morning meeting
After the meeting, I did some work at a local cafe, Me and Ollie’s, and enjoyed a cup of coffee
For lunch, I had sautéed kale, broccoli and some homemade tomato sauce. Vinnie’s Italian roots make for a delicious pasta sauce!
I snacked on some trail-mix which I absolutely adore! I could eat it forever and ever. I have to make myself stop. It is so good.
Dinner was grilled chicken, quinoa and salad with homemade maple mustard balsamic dressing.

Maple Mustard Balsamic Dressing
2 TBS Spicy Brown Mustard
1 TBS Maple Syrup
4 TBS of Balsamic Vinegar
Mix the mustard and maple syrup together
Whisk the mixture while pouring in the Balsamic Vinegar
Add as much Balsamic Vinegar as you want in order to make it taste to your liking

This dressing is super easy to make and tastes delicious. You can add as much mustard, vinegar or maple syrup as you want.
Make it your own!

Tuesday was a long tiring day.
Today will be better! :)

Question: Have you ever had a day where nothing seems to go right? What happened?
