X Stands for Cheater Cheater Pumpkin Eater

OK. Confession. I had no idea what to write for X. The only words that came to mind were X-Ray, Xylophone and Xenophobia.  I didn't chose those words because: (1) It's been a long time since I've needed an X-Ray and I didn't want to jinx it, (2) I'm sure the baby will want a Xylophone soon, and that noise will ring in my ears forever, and (3) I wasn't emotionally up for a post on Xenophobia, although I really would like to read a new book by John Piper on racism in the world and in Christianity. Instead, I decided to search "Words that start with X." Bonus: I won 9 Swagbucks for my search. It's like the universe wanted me to cheat! No? Ok... Just in case some of you are here from the A-to-Z Challenge and struggle with what to post for the letter X, I figured I'd share some of the interesting words I learned.

• Was something not your fault? Tell the person it was xenogenous - due to an outside cause
• During law school I suffered from xerophthalmia - dryness and soreness of the eyes. ouch.
• I believe in only one divinity, but just out of pure interest, apparently xylomancy is divination by examining wood found in one's path.
• And for those of you who are much more flexible than I, perhaps in ancient days you could have been a xystarch - an ancient Greek officer in charge of gymnastics.
