Yearning

Posted on the 18 July 2014 by Sreesha @petrichor_blore

There are days when I want to crumple and cry.Consumed wholly by sorrow,Over thoughts I cannot even define;Over fears I cannot even name.
On days like these, anguish screams,Louder than the silence of my lost soul.Irrationally, I wait for the yearning,To get over itself.
For this is the yearning that’ll produce no joy.For tears fall over broken promises,That were never made in the first place,I yearn for the attention of whose eyes and heart are set elsewhere.
There are days when I want an empty hallway,Where my screams can echo and rebound to meAnd slap me hard across my face.May my misery bring home to me courage to get over myself.
