Yes: Sometimes Boldness Whispers. And Sometimes Boldness Makes Mistakes
I’ll say it: there are times I have believed boldness needs to be thunderous, a cymbal at the end of a musical movement, a shouted declaration from the rooftops.

What I've come to realize is this: the most powerful moments - the most intensely bold moments - may come in barely heard whispers.

The nearly silent voice within assures us, points the way for us.

The baby coos, no language yet, but speaks love so purely.

The tears streaming down ones face. No words. No complaints. No pointed fingers. Just purity of feeling and we simply must respond.

Sometimes boldness makes mistakes.

Sometimes our passion stirs us up and we leap in without forethought.

Sometimes we allow ourselves to feel apologetic and embarrassed instead of human.

I wrote this poem more than ten years ago. I discovered it as I boldly reviewed content from years ago I want to rework and share with the world again. It whispered its way into my heart.

When I first read it, I was slightly embarrassed. Just like when I first created the image atop this blog post.

What if it is too corny? Too hokey? What if it looks too foolish, too childish, too elemental?

I realize boldness is often whispered presence that says “Yes, share what you have and trust the it will touch the right people in the right moment in the right way. There is a reason you are curating your long ago work now. Be bold.”

I've also learned that sometimes boldness makes mistakes. I'll leave room for that here in this poem as well. (I'll also whisper in your ear "My hope is this isn't one of those mistake times.)

Here it is, then, for you.

Yes: A Poem of Bold Self Love

Yes to the wind as it plays the chimes
Yes to the words which roll in rhymes
Yes to the song within my heart
Yes to whatever is longing to start
Yes to follow, a whim - in grace
Yes to each runner completing the race
Yes to each heart, each spirit, each soul
Yes to the readiness to plant a goal
Yes to the richness within each one
Yes to the treasures sparkling in the sun
Yes to continuing, to starting, to move
Yes to the blossoming, growing light
Yes to the opening of each sight
Yes to nature, to everything coming to be
Yes, most especially, to me loving me

31 Days FinalThis post is a part of the ongoing series for 31 Days challenge. I will be writing 31 blog stories about bold choices and using a bold voice....

I started the challenge late, so this is my eighth story. I hope to be caught up today! I actually have managed to be bold a lot in the last few days and plan to follow my adventures right here in this series.

The question is making sure to carve out the time and to document it all in a way you'll enjoy reading about bold choices in a most authentic, real-me voice.

I'm grateful you are reading.
