At The Movies {We Bought A Zoo}

In the Word Wednesday really had me thinking about what I was going to write. Then this weekend at Lifechurch it dawned on me. I am going to write about the Talk It Over from the sermon.
I am absolutely in love with the services this month and next month. Come to think of it. I love all his messages. They are so easy to apply to life and to understand. This month is: "At The Movies." The first movie was the "Best of Last Year." It was Book of Eli. I have never seen this movie, but I absolutely love it.
This past week was "We Bought A Zoo." At first I was slightly disappointed. If you ask G. he'll say I was extremely disappointed. I should admit my disappointment is because a fellow blogger was talking about her church's "At The Movies." The movies were: Moneyball, Social Network, The Vow, and one another. I want to see Moneyball now. (Just sayin.)
After I got over my "disappointment", and got into the movie/sermon I loved it. It spoke to the season G and I are in right now. Here's the questions to the "Talk it Over."
1. What's your favorite zoo attraction or animal? Why?
My favorite animal is a turtle. Every since I was little I loved turtles. In Des Moines there is this massive turtle that just sits in the shade. Every time we went back to the zoo it was fun to see if the turtle moved at all.
2. Describe a time when you felt hopeless. How did you regain your hope?
My time of hopeless was in Topeka, Kansas. G and I both were let go from the companies. We didn't know what else do and how to go forward. It took us both by surprise. What made it worse was we were planning a wedding too. I regain my hope by going to God's word. I have never felt so spiritually connected to the Lord in my life.
3. What trials are you currently enduring?
My trials currently are my new job. I am working in a new position for me. It's sales. So I am hoping that I am able to pick up on everything I need to and that I am also successful at it.
4. What new thing do you think God may be calling you to do?
I can see God calling me in several directions. I see that God is using G and I in so many different places. I just hope we move in the right direction.
5. What's something old you need to let go of in order to do something new?
I know what it is but I'm not going to mention it here.
6. Where in life do you need 20 seconds of insane courage?
I can use this everyday in sales. Outside of sales and my professional life I could use 20 seconds of insane courage in building friendships. Putting myself out there more.
7. What are some of the big leaps of faith you've taken in your life? How did your leaps of faith pay of?
I have recently taken a lot of leaps of faith by moving to OKC with my hubbie for his job. I have accepted a sales position with a sports team. I love working in sports, but most of positions have been ticket operations, game operations, etc.
All of my leaps of faith have paid off well in my favor.
8. (I don't have a lot, but I do have enough.)
How have you experienced the truth of that statement in your relationship with God?
I have experience this truth in my life before. I learned that lesson the hard way. I have told G a lot that we have just enough right now. We know everything that we are suppose to know in this moment. It has taken some time and prayer.
9. How different is your life when you are actively engaged in reading the Bible compared with the times you when you neglect it?
It is obviously different. I can tell in all aspects of my life.
