I love Butlins. Over the past few days we have created some amazing memories and have had some brilliant family time and bonding in a fun, relaxed, child friendly environment. The beauty of this place is that you can do as little or as much as you and your children want or can handle.
Today we went to Splash Waterworld and the twins had their first experience of swimming. Zoey was a real little water baby from the second she got in the pool while Zachary took a little longer to get used to it but was in his element when he got hold of an inflatable Nemo and giant rubber duck. Ben had a whale of a time (pardon the pun), the highlight being going down the giant waterslide with Daddy.
After swimming we hit the games arcade and paid a visit to the fairground. I loved going on the carousel with Ben, we laughed so much as we went around. In the evening we treated ourselves to a yummy cocktail and Ben had a non alcoholic one which not only looked great but tasted delicious too and made him feel all grown up.
For dinner we headed to Papa John's, it was scrummy and the salad bowl selection was ideal for the twins with pasta and loads of veggies they devoured - I think Zoey ate her body weight and Zachary's combined in tomatoes. Ben had the kids create your own pizza where he literally got to create his own pizza - such a fun, clever idea, perfect for children.
Lots of memories were made to today and new experiences had - some big, some small. I especially love this special moment captured with Zoey while we had a drink in Bar Rosso - a picture and a memory that will always make me smile.
