Christmas Celebrations at Max Mueller Bhavan #baumselfiegoethe

It was sheer fun to be part of Christmas celebrations at Max Mueller Bhavan, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi. As we all know people celebrate Christmas or Xmas worldwide on 25th December every year. It is a festival about exchanging gifts and traditional dishes with family and friends. Though it is a festival that is mainly Christians observe but people from other communities join the fun and frolic to share the joy. Coming back to Max Mueller Bhavan which we also know as Goethe-Institut, has their institutes all over the world. The key agenda of the to institute is to keep their culture alive. For this purpose, there is an emphasis on promoting international cultural exchange. It is among the premium institutes in India as far as teaching German is concerned. In fact, they hold internationally recognized examinations.

Christmas Celebrations

The Christmas celebrations at Max Mueller Bhavan were full of enthusiasm this season. There were few pre-Christmas activities and celebrations. That included taking lots of crazy selfies by wearing different props with the Weihnachtsbaum, Christmas cakes, drinks and fabulous food. There was a beautiful Christmas tree that stood just opposite the German library with fantastic decorations on it. Overall, it was a 3-day event. In fact, the Christmas festival this year at the Goethe Institut was being celebrated with full energy and enthusiasm. It was an atmosphere of immense zeal and happiness. Everybody was enjoying every moment.

There were interactive sessions with the students, bloggers and staff of the Institute. In fact, everybody got a chance to click pictures with the Christmas tree and the beautiful campus. And they got a chance to win X’mas goodie bags by uploading their selfies with the hashtag #baumselfiegoethe. There were joy and excitement all around. The Director of the Institute and his team briefed about the German Culture and interacted with the bloggers to reply to their queries regarding the prestigious institute. Along with the fun-filled interactive activities, there were delicious delicacies sponsored by Capsule. Finally, it was the moment that everyone was waiting for – the Christmas cake. In addition, there were delicious chocolate truffles and tarts.

Though the Christmas Celebrations are over for 2016, the sweet memories will stay alive for long. And probably everyone present there will agree. We will wait to celebrate this festival with equal enthusiasm and happiness with the Goethe Institut next year to regenerate a new set of sweet memories again.
