There are two possible reasons why you would want to visit Dahilayan: the cool weather and the adventure rides. The most popular one they have is their zipline, which is said to be Asia's longest dual zipline.
My family and a bunch of family friends spent 2 nights and 3 days in Dahilayan last March. The truth is, because of the unruly weather, we didn't get to do much. But there are still bits that is worth blogging, so here I am.
What is Dahilayan?Dahilayan is located at Manolo Fortich. The town is still part of Bukidnon but it's already at the boundary against Cagayan De Oro so if you're not from Mindanao, the most practical way to get to Dahilayan is through Cagayan as that's where the nearest airport is. Located 4,700 ft above sea level, the weather at Dahilayan is similar to Baguio, making it a perfect summer get-away.
There are a lot of different mountain resorts in that area. The most popular ones are Dahilayan Adventure Park(where the famous zipline is) and Dahilayan Forest Park
Because we figured most of the adventuring will be at Dahilayan Adventure Park, we checked in at Dahilayan Forest Park. That way we can enjoy both.
We are three families in total so we stayed at their barkada room, which is this big room that is able to accommodate up to 22 people. It's so big, there's enough space for the kids to run around. We paid only P500 per head.
The room was well furnished. It is not airconditioned because it's already cold at Dahilayan.
So it was already afternoon when we arrived. It was also raining a bit..

it was all foggy during the sun set.
You can't do much at Dahilayan at night except soak at the jacuzzi. We slept as early as 8pm as we were tired from travel. We came all the way from General Santos City and left at 4am.
We were hoping that the next day would be more eventful. So the first thing my sister and I in the morning was head to Dahilayan Adventure Park.
They had the following amenities to choose from:
Asia's Longest Dual Zipline (840M) - P500320M + 150M Dual Zipline - P250Ropes Course - P250Dropzone - P500/person P750/pairFlying Lizard - P250
We decided to try flying lizard as it's their newest attraction.
Flying Lizard
The flying lizard is similar to a zipline, except you cycle in the air and you can go on your own pace. Here I have plenty of pictures to show you how it works.
at the starting line.
We had a guide taking pictures for us.
There's a break at the right grip so it's easier to control how fast you go.
In my opinion, this is scarier than a zipline. What if you get cramps while you're in the middle? You're basically just hanging there. You have to finish the line to finally get off. It probably took me 30 minutes to complete it. There's no time limit. My sister and I agreed in the end that it's a good exercise.

It rained right after this so we had to go back to Dahilayan Forest Park. We were planning to try different adventures but it only stopped raining around 5pm. Immediately, we headed back to Dahilayan Adventure Park because my sister wanted to try the Drop Zone.
The Drop Zone is said to be the first pendulum swing in the Philippines. Rather than describing it to you, I'll let the pictures speak.
Once you're safely strapped, you'll be lifted to the scary height of 120 feet.
up and up.
And then, once you're ready.
I just realized this is a good sunset picture.
my sister didn't even had time to scream.
Mama asked me why I didn't try.I said I'm already happy with the pictures. :)
We roamed around a bit after that.
Weird plant with hollow fruit, like a toy ball.
Koi pond right outside our room.
Watch out, there's still part two!
