So it's easter! We had an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids in our neighborhood and I took these pictures to remind me where we hid the eggs!

We have a big yard. No fancy landscaping because my parents want us to build our house there someday. There are lots of trees though. Some of them, my grandfather planted a long long time ago. Some trees randomly grew and we decided not to cut them down when we realized they're fruit-bearing trees. That's where we hid most of the eggs.
Let me explain why there's so many kids here. Every Sunday, my parents would bring these kids to church with us. We have a pick up truck so transportation wasn't a problem. Although some are distant relatives, most of them came from less fortunate families around the neighborhood. Truth be told, I don't even know half of them as a lot of them are new.
I am soooo photo-bombing you now. But I can't pick which pictures to leave out so I'm posting all.

Find the Eggs! This is Charles. We had a buddy system so the older ones were partnered with the little ones. Charles was being a really good kuya and adopted two of the littlest kids. I think they can't even speak yet. He never left them despite the fact that they were slowing him down. Their group didn't get a lot of eggs but I awarded them with extra ones.

You see I had this wonderful childhood memory of an Easter Egg Hunt. I probably wasn't even 5 years old back then and we were in some sort of park. I'm not even sure if I remember everything right or if it's just my imagination running wild. All I can recall is that there were lots and lots of eggs hidden everywhere that even little me didn't had trouble finding a bunch. It was like trick or treat where at the end of the day, you have a whole pack of goodies. It wasn't just painted eggs, there were also candies shaped like eggs and the likes.
It had always been a memory that I'm fond of and I want the kids in our neighborhood to have the same experience. It's like a dream of mine.
That didn't happen this year yet because I'm quite ill-prepared. I only came up with the idea the week before when I noticed there were already a lot of kids who came with us to church. Before, it was only around 2-5 kids. We also went on another family road trip and just came back Saturday night so everything had to be prepared Sunday morning!

I hand-painted most of these eggs in less than an hour!

When I finally realized I can't do it on my own, I had to ask help from two of the kids who came early. Those random scribbles on the eggs on the picture above were drawn by them.

Some eggs had elaborate designs like the one with the tree above. I've had all these designs in mind until I noticed it's taking me too long and just decided to settle for simple mixtures of colors.

Would you believe this watercolor palette is already 16 years old? My mom bought it in Japan when I was very very little and because I wasn't much of an artist when I was young, I was never really able to use it up.

As I said, I haven't accomplished my dream Easter Egg Hunt yet. I hope these kids are still around the neighborhood next year because I'm definitely going to cook up a fantasy-like Easter Egg Hunt for them.
