I had this idea for a word search photo frame. Initially my design contained the child’s name which I thought was kind of cool. Then I thought it would be a little more difficult to customize with a child’s name especially for those that are unfamiliar with their text and format tools/layers/etc. in Photoshop and Elements. With that said, I decided on this ‘Be ONE in a Million’ theme!
With all my templates, this is a .psd file that can be opened in Photoshop or PSE. It is an 8 x 10 customizable photo template and is very easy to use. Once open, find the ‘Place Photo Here’ layer (highlighted in RED) and make sure it is selected with your mouse. Now go to File / Place. This will allow you to choose an image from your computer files. Once you have placed your photo in the square, you may adjust its size to fit the frame.
Don’t like the color of the background and want to customize to your image? No problem. You can remove the background completely which means your background will be white. To delete the background, navigate to the layer that reads ‘To remove, right click and delete layer’. If you want to adjust the color, just double click on the layer icon (the thumbnail image of the background). This will bring up a box that reads something along the lines of ‘After editing the contents, go to File / Save to commit to the changes’. You must save the file in its original location. The background will open in a new window where you will go to Layer / New Adjustment Layer and choose Color Balance. Now you can start adjusting the sliders to change the color. Once you’ve decided on the new color, you will need to flatten your image before you can save the file. To do this, go to Layer / Flatten Image. Once finished, go to File / Save and you should be golden! Once saved, go back to my template (in your other window). Your changes should have been applied to the background. Voila!
For best print results, I recommend using a professional grade soft gloss photo paper. Also be sure your printer is set to BEST quality or maximum dpi if it's an option.
