Last week I wrote about the Cactus League, and now over to Florida for the Grapefruit League. This is where the rest of the MLB have Spring Training. This year is a special year because it marks the 125 year anniversary of Spring Training in Florida. That's AMAZING!!
Most of these make sense that they go to Florida because it is closer, but I still wish a few of the teams would come here to Arizona.
Braves
This is my FAVORITE team. I'm really excited with some of the changes that they made in the off season. UP UP and Hay!
I'm also sad that Chipper Jones will no longer be on the Braves roster. He is my favorite players, and it will be so weird seeing someone else at third base.
Orioles
I really don't know much about the Orioles. They are a middle of the road team.
Red Sox
I like the Red Sox better than some other teams. I really don't follow them too much but they have some big name players. They also have a lot of players that I saw play in the minors.
Tigers
I have recently started liking the Tigers for 3 reasons. First, my parents moved to outside Detroit and they go to TONS of games. They call and tell me about it. Also my mom will ask about certain players so I need to be in the know. Second, I like their colors and designs. They are clean and classic. Third, Prince Fielder.
Astros
We will always have a spot in our hearts for the Astros. Gary and I use to work for the Triple A team, Oklahoma City RedHawks. It was a great 2 years in OKC.
Marlins
Marlins are a team I enjoy to see only because of their stadium. They just built a new stadium and it is crazy. They also got a new logo and its so far out there it's amazing.
Twins
You would think that growing up partly in Iowa I would like the Twins. It's a team that I could really don't pay much attention. Joe Mauer is nice to look at it, but that's about it to be honest.
Mets
I like the Mets only because of Bobby Valentine. He was hilarious, and reminds me so much of Bobby Cox.
Who doesn't remember the disguise incident as well. This was classic. Did he really he wasn't going to get caught? I'm just saying. He is the epitomy of Sorry I'm not sorry!! Gotta love it in a manager.
Yankees
I love the Yankees! I don't love them like they are my favorite team, but for so long they play together so well. Gary went to New York before we moved here, and he said it was absolutely amazing!! He talks about taking me all the time.
Phillies
I know a few people that LOVE the Phillies. Some I love very dearly, and others I kinda wanna beat. So with this team I have a love-hate relationship.
Pirates
Again another team that is under my radar. I really don't pay attention to what they do.
Cardinals
A team that I just don't like. I haven't liked them since Mark McGwire ages. I really just don't care what they do.
Rays
I don't know much about the Rays team. I haven't really ever caught on to them. They are a consistent team, but nothing really stands out to me.
Blue Jays
This is a team that I have always wanted to see. I wish they would come to Arizona instead of Florida. I think they are going to be the team to watch out for this year. I can't wait for them to come and play the Dbacks.
Nationals
This is a team that will always be near and dear to Gary's heart. This team use to be the Montreal Expos. When Gary was in high school he got scouted by them. I really want the Nats to come to AZ as well, but that would be one heck of a trip. Seriously DC to AZ, I don't think they have the budget for that. I'm hoping to see them fairly soon.
