Prompt #3: Describe your garden right now
The goal with this prompt is to appreciate the work that you do in your garden and to do that by taking notice of your garden's progress through the year.
We do very little with this yard, to be honest. I'd like to do more, but for practical reasons we've kept it simple. We have always known that we do not want to live in this house more than a few years. We also know that we want to try renting it out after we move. So, 1. I don't want to put a lot of money and effort into a yard that we will be moving away from. and 2. If it becomes a rental, a plain lawn is much easier for tenants to maintain and keep looking nice. Flower beds in a rental will mostly likely just get riddled with weeds and become an eye sore.

- Most of the neighbors have blooming tulips. Our are still buds. I think this is because our house doesn't get as much full sun on that side. They take longer to bloom and I always have to try to be patient and wait for them. I have all white tulips and they're so pretty when they're in full force.

- The two large, red pots out front are still empty. It hasn't been warm enough to plant them yet. Henry likes it when they're empty.

- The garden is tilled and ready to be mapped out. Again, no planting yet.

- We removed a large stump this year that was a shoot off from the neighbors yard and had grown out of control before we got to it. It's annoying to live next to people who don't take care of their yard and then their weeds creep over into our space.
- Andy mowed the lawn for the first time yesterday. I like edged lawns. Something about the clean lines makes me happy. So we're going to put more of an effort into that this year.
- Henry won't stay out of the hosta bed so several of my hostas are dead now. Only a couple of them are coming up. I've tried lots of methods for keeping him out, but nothing has worked for long.

- The Iris's and Hollyhocks are coming up and we have growth in other areas of the yard as well. Everything needs to be weeded.

Really, there's not much going on yet. Here in Utah, winter is just barely getting over. It will be awhile before I have much of anything to write home about. For now, I just keep pinning things to my garden board.
