I'm so excited to having people guest post on my blog this month. I'm really trying to be a better blogger to sponsor. I thought the summer would be a slower time for me but it has turned out to be the opposite. One of the things that I have been doing lately is the Cara Boxes. I love it because I get to meet 2 amazing bloggers each month.
I have gotten to know Erin this month, and absolutely love her blog. I love how she and her husband both blog about this. My hubs was suppose to blog about spring training this year. He forgot. :( Also I just learned to crochet and trying to make different fun things.
Hey all! My name is Erin and I blog with my husband over at Mr. & Mrs. Toews. We started the
blog to update our friends & family on our life & adventures. Now
although we do post life updates, there are also craft tutorials, recipes, etc.
Jessa sent me an awesome Cara Box this month. What a sweet
lady! It has been fun to get to know Jessa through this Cara Box experience.
She even asked me to post and let you all know about my crochet shop.
I recently opened an Etsy shop called CrochetToews (name is a work
in progress). In the shop I sell items that I have crocheted - obviously. The
items I crochet most often are winter hats & beanies.
My mom taught me to crochet when I was just a kid. She had
to reach me again in middle school... then again in high school. Lol. Mostly I
could only crochet in a straight line and made scarves - sometimes simple
blankets. I first started crocheting hats when I was in college. The RA of my
dorm had taught a group of us to make hats so we could crochet all together and
then give the hats to children in a nearby cancer hospital. What an awesome
reason to learn something new! Since learning to make hats, I have expanded my
skills. I make more complex blankets, hats, washcloths, & stuffed animals.
I am always looking for something new to try.
I began selling hats on Facebook and mostly my college
friends would buy them from me. Then whenthere were a few classmates wearing my hats, a local coffee shop started
selling a few. Now that I am now graduated and have a few fans, I decided to
make an Etsy shop to grow my business a bit.
While I do have a small number of items stocked and ready to
sell, most of my business comes from custom orders, mostly baby hats. So head
on over to my store. I hop you see something you like. And if not, feel free to
put in a request for a custom order and we'll try to work something out.
Thanks for reading! Please visit my blog & post comments
so I can get to know you a bit as well.
