Highlights from 2014

Posted on the 31 December 2014 by Lifeofasportswife @jessaolson
I love the end of the year. It's a great time for recaps and the best of's. I don't know why I love Best Of ____ so much. I think because you forget about things and have a chance to relive that memory. I have been listening to the Best of 2014 music on itunes radio, and forget about so many of the songs.

Gary and I were talking last night about 2014 and it was a very trying year for the both of us on many different levels. I for one can't wait to see what 2015 has to offer. This blog has had a rocky road this year. I rebranded, ignored, and blogged everyday.

1. New Year, New Theme: Better
Each year I do a Word of the Year over making a much of resolutions that I don't (or won't remember).

2. The Girl Between the Lines: My Engagement Rings
This is always a topic of discussion when I go to the jewelers. I have a pearl engagement ring because I am weird and don't like diamonds. I ADORE pearls and Gary got me a pearl engagement ring. Everytime we go to a jewelry store we get hassled to purchase a diamond ring.

3. Finally I can talk about it
A big life changing moment happened this year. My mood and attitude sure has changed from this post. Expect more about it in 2015.

4. You know you are a baseball wife when.....
I have embraced my role as front office minor league sports wife. My husband wants to be a General Manager of a MiLB team, and right now he is getting his management experience to hopefully get to that point in his career. Not only does he is work in baseball but this guy eats, breaths, and everything else baseball.

5. Bye, Bye Life of A Sports Wife
This was a tough decision this past year to rebrand. I absolutely don't regret the decision but I could have been more prepared with the rebrand. Emily did a great job and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out.

6. DIY Craft: Game Ticket Shadow Box
We keep all of our ticket and I collect the pocket schedules for each team we visit so now we have somewhere nice to put them.

7. Things I am Afraid to Talk About
I saw this done from a few different bloggers. I'm actually thinking of doing another one. This space has changed a little bit since then. Some of the things on this list haven't changed either. But overall I am glad that I wrote it.

8. Things I'd Rather Be Doing
This summer blogging was struggle. Like a real struggle, and it still is.

9. Day In The Life.. Sports Edition
I really love doing these. I have another planned coming up hopefully. I just think it's fun to do a Day In the Life in different industries.

10. 101 in 1001 days
In 2014 I was HORRIBLE about doing the list. I hope to get better soon! I'll keep you posted.

11. Fall Bucket List
These are so much fun to do, and y'all really like me doing them so I might continue. It's tough to come up with new things. I failed to do a winter one this year.

12. Facts About Me
This was during Helene and Taylors #blogtober. It was a lot of fun to do, and hope that they do something like that again.

13. 7 Arrows Bible Study
I did this exchange with Robyn. I met her in real life at the Renew Conference. It was great to learn a new way to study the bible. It was also very challenging and not sure how often I will be doing it that way.

14. DIY Blanket Scarf
I love scarfs, but can't justify the price for the blanket scarf. So I made my own. I love how the turned out.

What do you want to see more of in 2015?
