HOW TO: Spot Clean Makeup Brushes with Ellana Makeup Brush Cleaner

Posted on the 14 December 2013 by Genzelkisses

Before, I don’t mind reusing my makeup brushes every time I’ll apply makeup on my face but then I learned, it’s best to spot clean brushes right after using it.  Before I spot clean my brushes every week or two but now, I allot time cleaning them right after applying my makeup.  I also find it easier to use brushes rather than my fingers (except for BB Creams).  No mess, no hassle.

Now, I’m going to use the new Ellana Makeup Brush cleaner.  I’ve reviewed their old one more than a year ago.  You can read it here.  I received this at the Ellana Minerals Re-launch event which is so timing since I just ran out of their old brush cleaner and my alternative anti-bacterial wipes.

Those Ellana brushes are new ones.  I spot clean my new brushes. You should too!  Then after  a week of using them, you can deep clean them using soap and water.  I received a request to do a post regarding how I deep clean my brushes, so I’m going to do that maybe before December ends ^^

Ellana brush cleaner has tea tree extracts and is really fast-drying.  I can attest to that.  Now their brush cleaner is in Cucumber Melon.  It smells very much like the old one but I find this new cleaner’s scent a bit stronger.

From their website:

The Brush Cleaner is designed to clean your brushes efficiently, leaving them soft, sanitized, and ready to use. This doesn’t have a solvent-like scent like other brush cleaners in the market – in fact, It smells like sweet melon.

HOW TO USE
Spray directly on the brush then wipe off the dissolved dirt with tissue. Repeat the process until there is no more makeup residue coming off on the tissues.

TIPS AND TRICKS
You can use the Brush Cleaner on any brush, synthetic and animal-hair alike.

Here is my Ellana Baby Buki brush that needs some pampering.  This brush has been serving me  for almost 3 years now.  That’s so long right?  I only clean this using my emptied Ellana brush cleaner and I also deep clean once every month.  Just spray generously on the bristles.  Usually for this size of brush, 2-3 sprays are enough.

After brushing it on this paper towel, back and forth, see how the makeups melted from the hair.

You can watch the full demo/review on the video below! ^^  Like and Sub, TIA!

I’m totally amazed with this brush cleaner!  It dries up super fast and melts away makeup on the brushes like a boss!  I just find the scent too strong for my liking.  I like the scent of the old one but performance wise, for me, this new formulation is better.  You can use your brushes again after 2-3 minutes!  It’s a winner!  No more waiting time to use your fave tools *wink*
