If there's one lip product I can't live without, it's lipbalm. I was curious about Human Nature Tinted Lipbalm in Island Kiss for two reasons: the claim that it's 100% natural and its color.
What makes this lipbalm a must-try first and foremost is the fact that it's organic. Human nature products are said to be pro-environment, pro-poor, and pro-Philippines. I'd like to elaborate on this but I'm here to talk about what I think about this lipbalm so you'll just have to check their website here for the details.
The important thing here for me is that this lip product is paraben-free. We all know how paraben is such an issue in the cosmetics world because of the speculations that it can probably cause cancer. I'm not really wary about that story but I thought it would be nice to switch to organic if I happen to find a lipbalm that's good enough.
I'll talk about the color later on.
You can see in this list that the ingredients are indeed all natural. I'm a little suspicious about the ingredients at the bottom of the list though. My mother said those are artificial. I'm no chemistry-savvy person so I can't tell.
The packaging is not as sturdy as I would have wanted it to be. While the sticker thing is no problem for me, my main gripe is the cap. It's always loose and it tends to detach itself from the main body whenever it's inside my bag. The expiration date is indicated but fades easily.
Warning!Because Human Nature only uses natural preservatives for their products, they don't last as long as normal cosmetics do. For instance while lipbalms normally lasts for at least two years, Human Nature Tinted Lipbalm in Island Kiss lasts for only a year. But it's no big inconvenience really as you'll probably finish it up in less than a year's time anyway. Either that, or you'll forget about it and it's as good as lost.

So now let's talk about the color. It looks brown in the picture but it's actually kinda orangey. I'll show you in the swatches later. It's a color that I actually love-for a lipbalm. I rarely see a lipbalm with an orangey tint. The color-changing ones that claims to transform into a peachy color once it's already on your lips always turns out to be pink on me. If you know a lip balm that is orangey that you can recommend, kindly tell me on the comment below!
Human Nature Tinted Lipbalm in Island Kiss looks like it has glitters in this picture, but on the lips, it doesn't show at all.
I asked the sales lady if they have a red lipstick and she said Human Nature can't produce lip products that are truly red yet, mainly because there's no color red that is not an artificial coloring. That led me into asking where they get the pigments for their products. She mentioned passion fruit.. and guess what? Atsuete!
Yes! That one! That same orangey natural food coloring that makes adobo more yummy!
Texture:It's not as buttery-soft as most lip balms. That means, it doesn't melt as easily as most lipbalms do. Unfortunately, it's not as moisturizing too.
Anyway, swatches!right: swatched once; left: swatched 3x
It's quite pigmented for a lipbalm. The color complements my skin tone. I can wear it alone and it somewhat brightens my face.

Likes:Paraben-free100% naturalAffordableI like the orangey-colorpigmented for a lipbalmhas a minty feelsmells like mint
Dislikes:Cap is always looseNot easily available (Available in the Philippines only)Drying
been using this for:one month and a half
Final thoughts:Yes you heard that right! This is supposedly a lip balm, yet I find it drying for my lips. It does the job of moisturizing during the first hour, but in about 2-3 hours of wearing this, my lips feels dry. But then, I have really dry lips to start with. It's quite hard to access this product too. They don't have stalls at malls yet. I bought mine from a Human Nature outlet. Otherwise, the only way to get this product is through dealers. The minty feel and the minty smell is the thing that I love most about this product. But as always, these can be considered cons too as people generally have different preferences when it comes to the smell and the feel of a product.
Final Rating:2.5/5
Recommend?have extra dry lips? No. But I read some good reviews of this from people with normal(?) lips. so yes, I do recommend if your lips aren't so dry.
Repurchase?No. I need a more moisturizing lipbalm.

Human Nature Tinted Lipbalm in Island Kiss is a lipbalm that I use because of its color and only during rainy days when the weather isn't so dry, not when I'm out and about on a sunny morning.
Good day! Thanks for reading my blog!
