Hello dear friends!First and foremost, I would like to greet you all a Happy Easter! How have you all been during the Holy Week? :-)
Well, my Holy Week was actually uneventful. It was more of spending a quiet time with myself…Some Bible reading, praying, a little netsurfing…And I also gave this little blog three days of rest.Boring and simple, I know…But it’s exactly the way I wanted it hehe
So yes, I’ve been reading…And reflecting…In short, being the usual ME.And I came across a few Bible verses which eventually made me realize…That I’ve been utterly disobedient to God’s Words.
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. – 2 Timothy 4:3-4
I am actually having a problem when it comes to obedience…I question a lot…I reason out a lot…I look for excuses…I have a lot of but’s…Most especially if it would cause me so much inconvenience.
Convenience!!! –Now who doesn’t love that word? It’s something I find so hard to resist! But…What about Jesus?Wasn’t He the King of kings? And yet He chose to be among the poor…Instead of living in a large castle and be served by the people…He became the servant of ALL…Most especially when He was nailed on the Cross…
I couldn’t find anything convenient with what Jesus did for us.And even if He knew He would be tortured to death…He obeyed and accepted His Father’s will…And this He did just to save mankind…So why does a Great God want the salvation of a million sinners…At the expense of His Son’s convenience?I guess there is only one answer for that –
LOVE.Selfless, unconditional LOVE.
Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. – Romans 13:8-10
Now I understand that in order to be truly obedient…I must learn to be selfless…Because the main reason for obedience should be LOVE.Whatever the consequences…And whatever the inconveniences of that obedience…As long as we have hope in the Risen Lord…In the end, we will see the light shining through…In the form of LIFE. :-)
For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near.I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing. – 2 Timothy 4:6-8
