I will praise You, for I am fearfullyandwonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
Andthatmy soul knows very well. — Psalm 139:14
I am celebrating introversion… And all the awesomeness of being in my own secret world.
The more I look into the things I enjoy doing… The more I am able to tell myself… Geez I’m a full-pledged introvert!
I remember a friend tell me in the past about how boring I was. And I actually believed him! His remark made me feel insecure about how I seldom went out of the house… Because I enjoy staying in my room singing and playing the keyboards more than shopping… And sketching and finishing a suspense novel more than watching movies or going out to party.
I did try to change myself a little bit… Thinking that it might make people’s perception of how boring I was change… I went out more. Watched movies in the theaters more. Enjoyed the company of friends more. But well, did not exactly shop or party more hehe And I agree… Such activities made life seem more exciting.
But at the end of all of life’s madness, and noise, and goings-on… I have that deep longing for solitude… Where I can be meditative. Imaginative. Creative. I crave for that silence which allows me to be in touch with myself… Because it is only through that moment where I am able to find myself again.
Solitude and socializing… I believe there should be a balance between the two. However, I have a natural tendency to gravitate more towards the former. I guess that’s just who I am. :-)
What about you? Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert?
