Today was Ben's first proper experience of playing in the snow and boy was it lots of fun! We showed him the snow as it started to fall last night and the look of excitement and wonder in his eyes was such a special thing to witness it's definitely a moment I won't be forgetting.
As soon as he got out in the snow this morning he started grabbing fistfuls of snow, throwing snowballs and then gathering up armfuls and bringing them to Daddy who was busy rolling giant balls of snow to make Ben's first snowman. There was lots of running about, falling over and rolling around in the snow with Ben resisting all efforts to get him to wear gloves or mittens, his poor hands clearly freezing but he wasn't having any of it.
The best part was assembling the snowman who has apples for eyes, a kinder egg container for a nose, Daddy's Wolves scarf, twigs for arms and a mouth and my hat. Ben instantly loved him and gave him a big kiss. Now we are inside in the cosy warmth he keeps checking on Mr Snowman out the window. I have a feeling we will have a very sad little boy on our hands when the snow starts to melt...
