I have seen this first hand with the twins who are lucky enough to have quite a few Little Learners books to choose from. Now a year old, they often go and fetch books themselves and bring them to me to read which is a delight to see. Here are a selection of the ones we read most often.
Hey Diddle Diddle
Hey Diddle Diddle is an adorable nursery rhyme board book features a fun cat character finger puppet toy built into the story, encouraging interactive play, hand-eye coordination and language development for babies aged 6+ months. The perfect size for little hands, it is ideal for reading and playtime on-the-go.
Zoey, a massive fan of cats, adores this book and her big brother Ben is a very willing puppeteer making the little kitty come to life. This is a great book to bring on car journeys and it has certainly come to the rescue for me on numerous occasions when I needed to distract the babies.
Bunny Loves to Play
Like Hey Diddle Diddle, Bunny Loves to Play is another storyboard book which features a finger puppet built in. This time it's a little Bunny called Buster who you get to act out.The twins adore this little bunny's story and it always gets lots of giggles. I love the fact you can bring stories to life from such a young age with the aid of these little puppets.
Spots and Dots
The littlest learners will love to play with these chunky pages whilst they find spots, stripes and more! Innovative, shaped pages and an easy-to-grab handle make this the perfect book to share, whilst encouraging development of movement and Reflexes. Cute and colourful illustrations teach simple patterns found in nature.Spots and Dots is one of Zoey's favorite books and I often find her sitting turning the pages of it, pointing to the dots and tracing the swirly shapes just as I do when I read it to her.
Jiggly Giraffe
Jiggly Giraffe is a beautifully illustrated rhyme book and soft plush giraffe rattle. The perfect boxset for stimulating your little one's senses. Read along as they shake the rattle. This set would make a perfect gift.Zachary loves Jiggly Giraffe, he has grown quite attached to the rattle since we got the book a few months ago now. I like how he clearly associates the book with the toy and if I get the book out to read he always goes and fetches Jiggly and then waves it at me to let me know he's ready. Likewise if he wants the book read he will signal to me in a similar way. Disclaimer: I am a Parragon Books Book Buddy and received these books for review. All views and opinions are my own.
