Then, cameras and television sets now offer high-definition display, producing really vivid and fine graphics on screen. With all these, there are makeup products now that are meant for HD graphics. I like the crystal clear packaging that gives a luxury feel and you can easily see the lipstick shade through the tube.
There’s also an color-coordinated label at the bottom with the shade number and name.
However, since it doesn’t retract all the way down, there’s a 99.9% of possibility that this will happen to you. You can just wipe it off with a tissue in the tube but still this requires effort to maintain your tubes clean which is what I practice. It breaks my heart when my lipsticks got damaged or with a situation like this. I hope they can improve on the packaging in terms of fully retracting the tube.
I got four beautiful shades out of 20! Yey! I love the selection they sent me. I got a red (Gladiolus), peach/coral shade (Tulip), dark (Snapdragon), and bright pink (Orchid).
Tulip (870)
This shade is perfect for everyday use, especially this summer when peach and corals are in!
Snapdragon (899)
I don’t normally wear this color, it’s my first time to have this shade actually but I liked it. I think it’ll be great to be worn for night gigs and parties when you can totally pull off a dark lipstick aside from red.
Orchid (810)
This one’s a really bright pink with blue undertone, perfect for that edgy look!
I honestly remember Nicki Minaj on this!
Gladiolus (875)
A nice orange-red lipstick that can brighten your skin tone and your skin!
A kind of red that looks presentable even on broad daylight.
Formula:
I’m not sure if it’s because of the gel-technology that it’s a little silicone-y for me? It glides smoothly on my lips tho. There are times, especially if I didn’t exfoliate, it settles on the crevices of my lips and looks patchy, BUT it looks good on photos! Weird. Maybe because of its HD effect.
Long-lasting power:
I like the longevity of this lipstick. It lasts for hours without eating and drinking. It leaves a nice hint of color on your lips even after eating. Reapply when necessary.
Scent:
For people who are not a fan of scented makeups, I know the whipped vanilla and cream mango scent might bother you. I honestly don’t mind at all because I like scented products, yes even in makeups. Oh, it slightly tastes a bit like butter and mango! I tried tasting while I was wearing it. *haha*
Tips:
If you don’t want to end up with patchy lips, always exfoliate. Make sure that your lips are in good condition and moisturized before you swipe. Use a lipbalm, you can blot the excess before you apply Revlon HD Lipstick.
Overall, I like the luxurious feel of the tube just please, I hope they’ll do something about the full retractable thing to avoid smearing the cap. It’s nice that there are a wide range of shades to choose from! It’s long-wearing and looks good on photos and videos even if it’s patchy sometimes, when my lips are not cooperating. If you’re interested, you can swatch those 20 shades on Revlon counters and pick your favorite! Finish wise, I like how snapdragon looks like in person and in photographs. My favorite shade among all four is Tulip! When it has faded, it gives a healthy looking tint on my lips.
