I remember before my mom went back to Australia a few months ago, I bought and made a makeup kit for her. My mom is a very simple woman, she can go out with just powder, eye shadow, and a lipstick, but I told her that she should start to learn better makeup application especially when she’s without me to do her makeup. One of the makeup products that I bought her is a waterproof and smudgeproof eyeliner from Maybelline. We tested it and taught her how to apply eyeliner. I actually liked it and the product made it to my To-buy list, that’s why I’m so happy when Maybelline Philippines sent me these liners to try out! I liked the Hypersharp Laser so much and I know I will like the new Hypersharp Wing too!
You ask, what’s the difference of the two?
Maybelline HyperSharp Laser P379.00, the one in black and gold packaging is meant for more than just a wing eyeliner. It has super thin tip (0.05mm) that allows you to make your eyelid and upper lash line a blank canvass to draw on your line. With HyperSharp Laser, you can do intricate details like high-fashion look, curls, and other precise details that you want.
Maybelline HyperSharp Wing P399.00, the black and purple pen, is for that perfect winged liner look. It has thin and flat tip that allow you to control and draw with precision your wing line. Go for thin to thickest line if you like.
Both eyeliners are sweat, sebum, and smudgeproof that can last up to 12 hours! HyperSharp Laser and Wing have unique calligraphy-inspired brushes for precise application. It’s blackest black and shiny. This might be something to consider to those who are not into shiny eyeliners. You can opt for a gel instead if that’s the case. However, for me it still looks natural on my eyes.
It’s humid in our country that’s why liquid eyeliners work best for us.
Both eyeliners are very black and a bit shiny. They are very easy to control though I think for that, HyperSharp Wing performs better. Whatt I do is, for normal eyeliner on my upper lash line, I use the HyperSharp Laser then for the perfect winged lines, it’s HyperSharp Wing.
Here’s a photo taken during my birthday. I used Maybelline HyperSharp Wing and Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked Pink. This was taken around lunch time (12 nn) via iPhone 6.
Then by 12 midnight, sorry for the blurry photo. It was taken in the bathroom using my phone. As you can see, my eyeliner remains intact and pretty decent after 12 hours. I can still go for a night out party if I want too!
Overall, I like these eyeliner for regular use. They are both affordable yet great quality for the price (less than 500), already available in Maybelline counters. If you’re into winged liner, go for Maybelline HyperSharp Wing! Then if you’re like my mom who’s just into simple makeup and eyeliner, go for HyperSharp Laser. It’s cheaper too by 20 pesos.
By the way, Maybelline is currently on sale! They are slashing off P100.00 on all their best sellers including lipsticks, eyeliners, brow product, and mascaras, then up to 50% off on select foundation products! If you wanna try this out, it’s the perfect time! You’ll get each for less than 300!
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these eyeliners before! Suggestions are welcome too!
PS. I love the #EYELoveMNY packaging (Empire State of HyperSharp!)
