Mentors

Posted on the 20 March 2013 by Lifeofasportswife @jessaolson
One of my new years resolutions was to refocused on things. What things you might ask? My career. My faith. My friendship. etc. I really to have to think on what is important to me. Before I was married I was involved with everything. I didn't think about the time commitment because it was just me. Now that I am married I have to think is this something that I want to do. It is worth time away from my husband and puppy.
Mentors I have narrowed it down to a few things: my work, faith, Junior League, and Delta Zeta. As you all know, I work for the Phoenix Coyotes as a Group Sales Account Executive. I have been thinking about my career lately and the route that I want to go. I have worked for several teams and a variety of departments. I have done player operations to media relations. I am wanting to find a female VP to help me with my career. I just would like to have someone to vent and get advice about certain situations.

My faith has been something that has been up and down. I am really wanting something more consistent  I know that it is all on me. I just need to make the time for bible study and reflection more often. I recently got paired with someone from Good Women Project. I am excited to see how it goes. I just got the email this week so I will keep you up to date.

Junior League is an organization that I joined back in Oklahoma City. I absolutely LOVE it. I have the opportunity to give back to the community while learning some great skills.

This year is my provisional year in Phoenix. I'm excited to be an "active" and be really involved in the organization. We have some great things planned this year and excited share with you.

Delta Zeta is an other organization that I have talked about before on my blog. I have recently accepted a role as State Alumnae Chair for the state of Nevada and Arizona. I'm excited to see where everything goes in the next year. We have some big goals ahead of us. I joined Delta Zeta in college as a freshman. It was my first time away from family and friends. I was hoping that I would meet amazing women and have them as my bridesmaids. That didn't happen so much, but I do believe being Greek is much more than 4 years. I have met so many great women in Delta Zeta and other sororities as well.
