Mommy Makeover!

Posted on the 10 May 2015 by Genzelkisses

When my mom was here last January this year, I was her personal makeup artist. Oh yes, for free of course *haha*. It’s amusing how my parents didn’t like what I am doing before. They felt they just wasted their time on me sending me to good schools, then ended up “just a beautician” as they phrased. Then now they finally realized that I’m on the right path, seeing me grow in the industry I’ve chosen. My mom and dad accompanied me to my wedding gigs during their stay here. I really appreciate it seeing them both waiting for a minimum of 4 hours and driving me to different hotels for my clients.

Back to my mom, she’s very simple. All she does in prettifying herself is applying powder (sometimes even baby powder!), blusher, and lipstick. I wanted her to look more presentable even at work everyday. In Australia, going to salons for a simple makeup or makeover costs a fortune so I taught her proper makeup application for beginners. Hence, the mommy makeover! She’s still practicing and I even sent her a new set of false lashes last week.

1 Mom Makeover - Revlon - Avon - Maybelline - Nichido - Taiwan Lashes

We shopped for makeups that she brought with her back to AU. These brands that I picked can easily be found in drugstores and beauty shops there.

For waterproof and smudge-proof eyeliner, I chose Mayblelline HyperSharp Laser

For her dark, puffy under eyes and freckles, this peachy concealer from Maybelline Pure Concealer (Mineral) is a good choice. It’s in the shade 02 by the way!

Comes with a doe foot applicator.

Avon SuperShock Mascara, great for naturally long and healthy-looking lashes!

We didn’t buy lipstick anymore since she has a lot back in AU because you know, all she liked to use before are powder and lipsticks!

Her before and after! Tada!

My mom did her makeup with my supervision. She’s still a little confused with what to apply first but I recently asked how’s her makeup application skills and I’m happy to hear that she’s getting better with it. I also sent her links of YouTube video tutorials that she can watch to familiarize herself more with makeups.

What can you say? Not bad for a beginner right?

My lovely momma!

She got her freckles from sun exposure without using sunblock. That’s why I always advise you guys to use sunblock even when you’ll be simple staying at home. Oh! I think now you got an idea why I’m a late bloomer! 😀 My mom didn’t want me to use makeup before! She believed makeups are bad and can make my skin worse and my lips dark. I’m happy to see her educating herself more on beauty and makeups!

I miss her especially this mother’s day! Her jokes are terrible and her laugh is so funny but she’s the light of our home. She can make all of us (my dad and younger brother), laughing our asses off! She’s my best friend and always there for me when everyone else isn’t. Happy Mother’s Day my beautiful momma! I love you so much!

Happy Mother’s day to all mothers, our super women! :)

Let me know if you’ve done a makeover with your mom too before! How was it and what products can you suggest for moms?
