I gave Dave a bath late this afternoon. And I usually do this
While my little fur baby, Dave, is kept on a leash…So that I wouldn’t be running around chasing the little buddy who, I predicted, will never ever learn to enjoy his bath time. Here’s a picture of my little Dave, in case you’re not familiar with him…This is the pail, where I mix hot and cold water, and the pink water scoop.Okay, now here’s the story:
While I was lathering soap on Dave’s fur…I slid the stool backwards using my body’s weight. And as I maneuvered the stool…I felt like one of the stool’s legs went into a twist…And then my butt fell smack on the bathroom floor.(I hope you don’t imagine how I looked like when that happened…But if you already are imagining… hehe)
It hurt, if you may ask.And I sat there wailing in pain, saying, “Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch…”And Dave?Well…He was shocked by the sound created by the stool’s impact on the floor when it fell. And he stood there, his fur all soaked in soap…Obviously perplexed at all that’s been happening.
And yup, nobody was around to help me.And even if my dad was inside the house…He wouldn’t be able to…Because the bathroom door was locked.I had no choice but to help myself…So I held onto the grab bar above me (thank God for the grab bar!)…Pulled myself up…Placed the pink stool back into its original position…And then slowly landed my butt on the seat…
Thank God, my head didn’t hit the floor or the wall…And I didn’t acquire any other serious injury…Or else…But my left buttock still hurts a bit right now…Because the impact of the fall must’ve been greater on that side.
Realizations and lessons learned?1) I am clumsy (which is something I know about myself since the beginning).2) Accidents can happen ANYWHERE. Even if you’re just inside the house.Which leads to number 3:3) ALWAYS be careful…
Now the third one is something I needed to teach myself.
