I spread out my hands to You; my soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Psalm 143:6
Restless… confused… mind racing…
These words perfectly convey the emotions I felt four nights ago. The emotions that kept my mind from shutting even if my tired eyes have long hidden underneath my eyelids. They had me tossing, turning, and squirming like a worm on my bed for hours ‘til dawn… Until the sun welcomed a brand new day as it shone its rays through the floral forest green curtain hanging in my bedroom. Oh the feeling of frustration of not being able to sleep the whole night through.
Sleep – what a precious word that is truly music to my ears. And what a blissful journey it is to ride with our brain waves during this peaceful slumber… Reaching the peak of the tallest mountains, diving to the depths of the ocean, or simply soaring freely with the wind. That night, however, forbade me from taking delight in such escapade.
Yet somehow I feel like I was able to translate such negative emotions into something good. (Well, at least I thought it was good.) – Into what I thought was something artistic. I let the pen do the talking as my mind raced and my heart palpitated wildly.
And yes, praise the Almighty for art and for blessing me with the ability to express through art… Through writing, through words and symbols… with the use of my hands… Because the whirlwind of emotions are able to find their way out… And somehow I am able to stay sane… Even if the next minute I could possibly lose my sanity again.
