My Love For Art Taught Me Perseverance
When I was four years old, I never really thought I had talent in art.I was really bad at sketching and coloring –I couldn’t properly trace broken lines…I couldn’t keep the colors within the outline of a drawing…And the colors I used for the drawings were inappropriate –I colored humans with green and bananas with orange. In short, my activity book was a total mess.Trash even. Hehe.I got scolded by my teacher back in pre-school because of my work. And that made me feel bad.
I wondered…Why wasn’t I as good in coloring as the other kids?Their coloring books were really neat…And the colors never went past the outline of the drawings.
My four-year-old mind then thought…I’ll keep tracing and coloring so that I’ll get better…Be as good as the other kids…Show a neat activity book to my teacher…And would never be scolded for it being messy again.
Today I look back and I realize…
My four-year-old mind was right.
