Nano Super Vert Crash Set Review

There was much excitement in our house when the Nano Super Vert Crash Set arrived from both Ben and Daddy (in fact I think Daddy may just have been a tad more excited than Ben). The minute I saw it, I knew it would be a perfect project for them to set up and I wasn't wrong.

That evening they assembled it with Ben "helping" Daddy to find the right bits and click them together. It certainly didn't take too long to get it built and looking very cool with it's bright green loops. As soon as the batteries were in and it was switched on though the real fun began

Just like Scalextric there is a knack to getting the cars going on the track and to keep them going. We found the trick is to pull the car back really gently until it clicks and then let it go. It also helped me to practice getting the cars around the first set of loops a few times with it switched off. It has definitely sparked some competition with us all and we have had lots of fun seeing who can get the cars to whizz around for longest. Ben loves counting the laps and cheering as they go around again and again. The fact that there is some skill required to get the cars spinning certainly keeps it engaging for all the family.

Once you get two cars going at the same time it gets really good and there will inevitably be some crashes with cars flying off the track when they collide at speed. Sometimes the cars just flip over backwards when they are going around the loops so make sure you watch out for spin outs. For kids who are impatient or have trouble getting the cars gong they can simply place them by the speed booster and they will speed off and around.

When the batteries are switched on it is noisy, but I have to admit I love the sound of the cars once they start whizzing around. One other thing to note is that it takes D cell batteries which are sold separately so make sure you get hold of some to avoid disappointment.
The Nano Super Vert Crash Set has become Ben and Daddy's thing which I think is really sweet. I have even been told to go sit down on the sofa and have a little rest whereas Daddy gets summonsed to the track by Ben. We are definitely Nano Speed fans after playing with the Nano Super Vert Crash Set and have bought Ben some more cars for it for his birthday. Nano Speed also have a very cool website where you can register your collections and select cars you think are awesome or would like along with posters to print so be sure to check it out.
