NCAA Volleyball

As the sports wife I try to write about all sports. This past weekend was the Division I NCAA Volleyball Championship. I completely forgot until we were at Buffalo Wild Wings watching bowl games. I was actually pretty shocked to see both of these teams there. I honestly thought Penn State would be one of the teams.

It was Oregon taking on the Texas Longhorns. I was torn on who to cheer for during the game. I graduated from Iowa State which is in the Big 12 Conference with the longhorns. But Oregon is in the PAC 12 Conference with the Arizona State Sun Devils.  Towards the end I picked a side and was cheering for the Longhorns.
The Longhorns (29-4) dominated the opening set and the Ducks' couldn't rally in the remaining two sets, winning 25-11, 26-24, 25-19.
There was something else that caught my eye during the game. One of Oregon's players is Miss Oregon 2012.  She was also voted Player of the Year too. That is absolutely amazing!! She just finished her degree in business.
Also an interesting face that she is 6'3, but wore 7 inch heels during the pagent. She was the tallest women ever to compete in the pagent. She is engaged to former basketball stand out at Northwestern, Kevin Coble.
