Hello 2014! Hello new blogging camera! After everything I’ve been through, I thought I won’t be able to get this soon. Thanks to my BF and his mom for all their help and support. I am truly blessed to have them both in my life. They never fail to make me feel my family is not here with me. Both of them is my newly found one. <3
Here I’m gonna share my humble equipment for my blog. I started with nothing, honestly.
I am often asked what camera I am using for my blog and mistaken that I have a DSLR. I’m happy that some of you like my photos here but since GK history began, I was using an affordable point and shoot camera. I started this blog using my Nokia E5 phone camera then after a week, BF gifted me my first ever camera, Samsung MV800! I’m an NOCSB. Never Owned a Camera Since Birth. LOL. Well, my family has one but it’s not mine. My MV800 was stolen last year after my birthday, then I bought Samsung DV300F which I’ll be reviewing soon. I’m happy that some of my blogger friends bought that same camera after seeing the photo results here.
Been studying basic photography for two days now and I’m a happy kid savoring the moment of eating a new flavor of lollipop. I never imagined learning it will be so much fun. Now I know why a lot of people are hooked with photography. I’ve been meaning to study it before but I lack equipment, feels like this is the start?
Choosing a camera is one of the hardest decision I made. That feeling when you are pressured to make the most out of your money. I have a few requirements for my first upgrade camera.
1. Must be with flip-screen for my vlogging hobby.
2. Fits my budget.
3. Something that I can use for a year or more.
4. Must be Nikon. Asked a few photographer friends and they all say the same. Of course, we have our own preferences but I guess, more of my allies are Nikon fans. lol.
I wanted Nikon D5100 before. First saw it from Shen of Shen’s Addiction and Say of Makeup by Say as their new cameras last new year 2013. Since D5200 is out, why not get it instead? They are almost the same but this is a better version. 24 pixels compared to D5100′s 16.something plus this super helpful illustration of Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO Sensitivity controls.
Yes it’s heavy. Good thing I’ve been working out and quite improved my muscles. *jokes* But seriously, it’s heavy. I even thought of getting mirrorless camera because it’s lightweight and easy to carry on events but I like this for now, maybe next year I’ll get one of Sony NEX series. I also considered getting Canon 650D/T3 Rebeli if I’m not mistaken with the name. That’s the greatest rivalry of this model. It’s more expensive but based on comparisons I’ve read, D5200 always wins. Canon 650D is touchscreen tho but doesn’t really matter to me.
