New Year 2014 at Tagaytay

Posted on the 07 January 2014 by Genzelkisses

This was a random trip to Tagaytay last week.  When my family was still here, we do go out and have fun since it’s the only day we are all free from schedules and workload.  We decided to go to Tagaytay.  It’s the nearest tourist place here in Cavite.  Without traffic, you can be there in less than an hour.

Mer Ben Tapsilogan - Tagaytay

Mer Ben Tapsilogan and Extra Special Bulalo

This was a shot far from where we were sitting.  Before, Mer Ben only has one establishment in this area and now they have expanded.  As expected, it was crowded you can barely see and memorize their faces.

Tagaytay is one of the best tourist spots in the Philippines especially for food lovers due to its infamous Special Bulalo.  It is also known to be one of the coldest places in the country though when we went there, it doesn’t seem as cold as it was when I was a kid.

January 1 has been a day of filling my belly!  I didn’t do anything that day aside from eating.  Oh man! I need to hit the gym soon!  These were some of the food we ordered at Mer Ben.

Fried Shrimp

Fried Shrimp

The moment the shrimp sits on your tongue, you’ll automatically realize that the seafood they serve are all fresh.  You can still taste the salty oceanic flavor of the shrimps.  It makes you feel you’re eating beside the seashore.

Shrimp is dipped in a sweet and sour sauce which adds the necessary spices it needs for a splendid fried shrimp recipe.  Definitely a must try when you visit here.

Special bulalo

Extra Special Bulalo

This is the tastiest bulalo that I’ve tried.  Also I just knew that, this one is like the real thing because they will serve it to you as a whole.  The meat is still attached to the bone (bone marrow).  Some restos recycle their bulalo.  How?  Remember when you order bulalo here in Manila, it’s already sliced.  Sometimes they’ll just get the bones, wash, then put it again to next orders.  Crazy right?  But here, you’ll get the whole part.   It comes in different servings.  We had the Large one which is good for 5 persons.

Special Pork Sisig

Sizzling Pork Sisig

Again, this is the best sisig I’ve tried so far.  Very tasty, and the flavor lingers to your mouth as you eat it.  It’s just a bit salty for my liking but still, it’s the best.

We also ordered Fried Tilapia and Grilled Squid but they were served while we were eating already and I didn’t mind to take a photo of them anymore. *laughs*  I’m not sure with the exact prices of each orders but we paid P1,500.00 for everything including bottled waters and rice.  For me, their food is affordable and the best!  I will definitely go back here soon.

Mr. and Ms. Genzel Kisses

Here’s le boyfriend and me.  Our first photos for 2014.  As you notice, I rarely post our pictures together.  It took me a while before he agreed for this photo. *laughs*  By the way, he’s the man behind my pretty blog layout and my web servers! ^^
