Not Your Business

This has been a post that I have actually wanted to write a LONG time ago. It wasn't until recently that I was ready to write and it publish. The article that sparked this was from Facebook by Emily Bingham who posted an ultrasound photo from a google image.

A little backstory on our relationship. Gary and I have been married 5 years in April. We only have dog named Heisman Barkley. To be honest I am pretty content with "only a dog." Many people in our family think we start a family with real children. At first I really didn't think much of it because we were just married, and to be honest it was quick. We met in October at a work then stayed friends. Not many people in our life knew about the other person because we were just friends. Then in January we started dating and still not a lot of people knew about the other person.  In March Gary proposed. It was a shock to everyone! We figured it would be so we planned a wedding for the following year so the families could get to know each other.  The following April we were married.

Then July came around and everyone asked when we were having kids!! Seriously. you barely knew me because we have really only been together a little over a year and you are going to ask me when we are going to have kids. It was kinda annoying for the next 6 months the baby questions continued to come. I finally half joking with Gary told him the next either family asks about having a kid I am going to delay it a year. (I still try to implement that but we have bigger goals right now before kids.) The baby questions still come but not as frequent THANK GOD!! But in the past year it really offends me when someone asks when we are going to have kids. Who says we aren't trying? You don't know what is going on in our life. Maybe we are struggling with becoming pregnant. Or have had several miscarriages. You have no idea what it is going in my life. Maybe we decided that we don't want to have kids, and haven't broadcast to the whole world only to get judged my family members wanting to be grandma. Or the you always wanted a family in the past what changed?  Why can't you just be happy for where we are in our life right now? My husband has a great job that takes me all over the US and he is doing something that makes me happy. Be happy that he loves his job. Ask him how his job is going and what the goals are there? Ask me how things are going in my life. Ask me how studying for a personal trainer is going? When I am taking the test? Be excited for the season of life that we are in right now.  post signature
