Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser Review

Posted on the 05 December 2012 by Ileodarod @ilevillegas
I first got to try this product when I spent the night at a friend's house and I forgot to bring my usual moisturizer and facial wash. She let me use her facial wash, which was Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser. During that time, I was trying different facial wash by buying those that are in sachets. I've tried sachets after sachets and while none of those I tried really broke me up, I still can't find that refreshing feel I'm looking for. But after using Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser, I did!
Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser Review
When I stepped out of the bathroom, my skin felt clean, a bit tight but soft. I instantly mentioned that to my friend and she confirmed my observation. I do remember how she had been having acne problems back in college despite the fact that she had been really faithful in performing her skincare routine every evening. She told me that ever since she started using Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser, she stopped having breakouts, and that the nasty pimples would only come back when she uses another product.
I was sold! I knew I had to get this. Finally I was able to buy it for P169($4.13) for 100g at the groceries. And all of that was 6 months ago. Ever since then, I've been using this product on and off. I have this tendency to get bored with a facial wash so I tend to use different products. I always come back to this one though and I think I've been using this long enough for me to make a sound review.
Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser Review
Product description:The Clarity Fresh Cleanser instantly washes away excess oil, dirt and make–up that leaves skin clean without over–tightening. Restores skin to a refreshed, naturally balanced condition. Its rich lather contains menthol and aloe vera for a cool and fresh feeling all day long as it reduces oil in your T–zone while adding moisture to the cheek area. It’s non-comedogenic and allergy-tested.
Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser Reviewingredients. And y'all know I don't have much to say about these.
Olay Clarity Fresh Cleanser Review
Texture-wise, it's soft and non-sticky, just like your regular facial wash. It doesn't lather as much as Pond's, but it lathers enough for me. There are no scrubs and it is really gentle. One of the things that I really like about this is its fresh and clean smell(and I know I've been repeating that but it deserves the emphasis!). It did not break me out and it always leaves my skin feeling just a little bit tight, in a non-irritating way. It is non-drying for me. In fact, I always get that same feeling I got when I first used it, it always left my cheeks soft, which I loved. It gives a mild minty sensation. You can hardly feel it but it makes a lot of difference.
One of my few gripes about this though is that it does not remove make-up as much the one I got from Pond's does. But since I always use a cleanser afterwards, this hasn't created any problem for me. I read reviews complaining about this product leaving them with dry and patchy skin and that it isn't as effective for people with really oily skin too despite the claim. I have combination skin and I think this product is perfect for me, no dry patches and it doesn't leave my skin feeling too greasy.
Another gripe is the packaging. I simply wish it comes in a smaller bottle.
Likes:Affordable ~  P169($4.13) for 100gEasily availablenon-comedogenic and allergy-testedI love the fresh and clean smellI love the textureDoes not break me outI love how this leaves my cheeks feeling smooth
Dislikes:No small variantSuitable only for combination skin
In case I haven't mentioned it before, my "over-all rating" is quite subjective. In short, I base it on how the product works for me, although sometimes I do sympathize with the sentiments of other people. So while there has been quite a number of negative reviews about this product, because it does the job for me,  I still give it this:
Over-all rating:5/5
Recommend? For combination types like me, yes!
Repurchase?Yes!
I'll still try other facial wash brands but I'll always keep one of these.
