Prayer Life and I

In LifeGroup, we started a new book: "The Power of a Praying Wife and Praying Husband" by Stomie Omartian. I personally was super excited to read this and see my prayer life with God EXPLODE! That's been a big burden on my heart lately.
Sunday night was the kickoff to the new book. Not a lot of people had read or even gotten the book yet, so we talked about our prayer life. The first question was "How is your our prayer life personally?" Honestly, not where I want it to be or  think God deserves. I have seen a slight change in my prayer from God if you do this then I'll do this, or God if you get me out of this I'll change. To give thanks and then asking. I'm excited to see how it changes through this book.
Next question, "How is your prayer life as a couple?" This question made me think about how we prayed all during our relationship as a whole. When we first got engaged, we prayed together all the time. It didn't matter if it was public or private. We were praying warriors. As time went on, we prayed less and less together. Since last night, we have made a commitment to get back where we left off. He prayed last night before bed, and I prayed this morning on the way to work. A fun thing we do is called Open eye prayer where we keep our eyes open prayer. We usually do this while driving or at a restaurant.
Most of the other couples were pretty much the same as us. We have started a daily devotional from "Raising Godly Children." A few weeks ago, I was looking at a posting they had I found via Pinterest. (Side Note: You  gotta love pinterest, right?) It was a 31 day challenge to pray for my husband. I also found one for husband to their wives. I shared this with the group last night, and excited how it affects everyone's life and prayer.
I can't remember the other questions, but I know there was some. I am so lucky to have a great husband who goes to church with me, takes me to bible study, and offers to lead prayers in our family. I know that not all husbands are willing to take that on. I am so blessed to have him in my life. I can not thank him or show my appreciation enough.
Stay tuned for more updates about my prayer life and being a praying wife.
