This is a rarity in our household! We both had a FREE weekend. By free I mean either one of us had anything going on. We had no events or games so it was nice to be able to enjoy each other and have no plans.
We were actually really busy this weekend with other fun things though. On Friday, Gary did have to work a softball game, but it got done super early so we still had most of the night to do whatever we wanted. We went to Tempe Marketplace and just walked around and talked about what we wanted to do this weekend.
Saturday morning I made the hubs breakfast in bed. We ran errands and got things in the mail that we had been avoiding to do. We really really don't like our apartment so we decided to start looking early so we know exactly how much to save for and the costs to move in. I can officially say we have found the place we want to live in September. We are so excited, but the only downfall is that we can't put a deposit until 30 days out. I know that this is typically protocol but we really want this place, and don't want to lose it.
Next I decided to go to IKEA. We really need a new couch, but either of us have found one that we both love. We finally decided on a couch with some negotiating of details. This is the couch that we decided on. I like the loveseat more, so I used my sales skills and barter with him. My first proposition was to get this couch, 2 decorative pillows, and a throw blanket. At first he was hestitant, but I told him I would also cook dinner. He said yes! So that's how we decided to get this couch.
Side Note: This is how most big purchases go down in our house is we try and pitch each other to get what we want. You can tell we work in sales.
After a trip to IKEA we decided to go to Barnes and Nobles and get me a new nook. I can't find my old nook, and really want to get another one. We tried to rent book from the library, but I just forgot about them and had to pay a huge fine. So he was fine getting me another nook and just purchasing books. Also I think he likes the fact that it takes up less room than a book. He'll never admit that last sentence but it is so true. He hates shopping for books and bookshelves. I absolutely LOVE reading, and he'll read magazine or picture books. (Not a dig at the hubs, and he'll even admit that)
Sunday was a super chill day doing normal "married" people stuff as our co-workers call it. We did laundry, cleaned out the house, and watched baseball. It was a pretty chill weekend at the Olson household this weekend. This week is going to be crazy with 3 home games this week. Lets GO COYOTES!! If you are reading this blog please be cheering for the Yotes. We need to win some games!
