Reviews: Cheeky Wipes

Cheeky Wipes One day on Twitter, I saw a tweet from a fellow twitter about Cheeky Wipes. I was intrigued. Why? Well you see Cheeky Wipes are reusable baby wipes. Now, I have heard of reusable nappies but wipes but reusable wipes, I have never heard of such a thing.

I was sent this lovely All-in-One kit by the lovely people of Cheeky Wipes to have a try. I have to admit, when I first got it, I was a little bit sceptical. I told my colleagues (who were moms too) about how unsure I was that this system could change my views on the convenience of disposable wipes.

"How will you clean one of them poo explosion?" asked one of the girls. "Surely the cloth wipes would stain and it will all be yucky right? I used cloth diapers on my little Toddie, and those poo explosions that they normally have from time to time is a pain in the bum to clean!"

I then thought to myself, "YES! How will it clean POO?". I told the girls, I will use it for pee only and will use the disposables for Poo clean up but boy was I wrong. More on that later.

I love just love the packaging! Everything fits in a box. I also love that it's color coded. Perfect for mothers who sometimes gets a little too overwhelm with things and forgets what goes where. They even color coded the essential oils! All I have to remember now is Green is Mucky (Dirty) and Blue is Fresh (Clean).

There is a video on the Cheeky Wipes website on how to set it all up but it's very very simple. All you have to do is fill in tap water to the level indicated on the box (again very easy to remember for mums like me) and drop a few drops of the essential oils in to the water. For the Fresh box, add in your cloth wipes and let the wipes soak up all the water. For the Mucky box, make sure you have the mesh bag string clipped on the "hooks" on the corners of the box and you are ready to go.

When you are on the go, the kit actually comes with a to go bag which uses the same concept. blue bag for Fresh and Green bag for Mucky and it doesn't take up much space either. Well actually, it lies flat so it takes less space than a normal wet wipes packet.

So back to cleaning poo. Because Karma always wants to teach me a lesson, she told the Lil' Tiger to have a massive poo explosion one morning and that morning, I ran out of disposable wipes. See. Lesson.

I thought, I might as well give Cheeky Wipes a go at cleaning up the poo from her bum. My first thought was how am I going to clean all this up after all the bum wiping BUT like what they said in their video, it was so simple and easy! Usually with disposables, I will have to use at least 4 wipes (more than that if it was a cheaper wipe) to clean the Lil' Tiger's bum, but with Cheeky Wipes, it only took 2 cloth wipes! The poo came off with ease and quick. Very important when you have a toddler who moves like a ninja.

Cleaning up after the poo wipes was easy too! Unhook the mesh bag from the Mucky box and it goes straight into the wash! I didn't even have to touch it. If you have a massive poo explosion, like I did, the guys at Cheeky Wipes recommend that you loosen the mesh bag a little bit before you put it in the wash or if you think that the washing machine won't be able to get rid of the poo, then a little bit of soaking and sunlight will do the trick. Also another tip from a fellow twitter, elbow grease wouldn't hurt either. After the wash, you can put it back straight into the Fresh box, no drying needed. One less thing I have to do.

I am a convert now. I really am. I don't know if I will be able to look at a disposable wipe the same way now. Cheeky Wipes is so simple to use and the best part, THE MONEY THAT I AM GOING TO SAVE from not buying disposable wipes! That means more money in my pocket.

Cheeky Wipes, you get a YEAY! from the Lil' Tiger for being so quick and simple to use and another YEAY! from me for saving me money! WOOT.

YEAY
