This year’s Human Rights Day was special. There was a meaningful conversation on sexual health and wellness. This, in fact, was a global event. Sexual health as the human right is now a prominent component of human rights. Love Matters and Durex Global Advisory Board (GAB) of Sexual Health and Wellness make it special by endorsing the right to sexual pleasure. Now, this is not a matter of shame at all. In fact, this is quite a serious matter and fits well with Indian rich legacy of art and culture. To commemorate the occasion there was a panel discussion on the theme Right To Sexual Pleasure. The participants in this panel discussion was actually a multi-country event. The event was happening internationally across many cities. Right To Sexual Pleasure Is a Matter of Discussion

As Vithika from Love Matters says, “We live in a country where talking about sex and sexuality is still considered taboo. The objective of holding these series of events around the globe is to promote dialogues and discussions around positive sexuality in the context of human rights and sexual health, non-discrimination, and freedom from violence. Through this event we aim to drive conversations around right to sexual pleasure, in the context of positive sexuality, gender and body diversity, disability, culture, religion, sex work, youth sexuality, non-discrimination and many more less talked about topics from a multidisciplinary perspective. Our association with Durex will surely help reach out to the right audience and provide a platform globally to put our country related issues in the forefront.”

In fact, you can access their (Love Matters’) FaceBook page for further insights on this not for profit organization. Overall, it was quite an intense and informative discusion on right to sexual pleasure and similar topics.
