Seoul India Friendship Festival Debuts With Exchange of Art & Culture

Seoul India Friendship Festival debuts with its first ever edition 2-day celebration in Cyber Hub, Gurugram (Gurgaon). It was on 8th and 9th November. The inauguration had a number of interesting cultural activities after the opening remarks by Seoul Mayor Park, Won-Soon. The cultural activities had the main focus on the uniting factors between India and Korea. On one hand, we had Nanta & Taekwondo from the artists from the city of Seoul. Whereas on the other hand, it was Bollywood dance performance by Indian artists. It was an evening full of fun, excitement, and exchange of art and culture between the two countries. The amphitheater was full during the program. Right from kids to elders from both Indian and Korean audience had a great time. The aim of the festival is to promote cultural engagements, associations, and exchange programs between the City of Seoul and the Delhi NCR.

Seoul India Friendship Festival comes with a strong message of unity and harmony despite different cultures in different countries. There is always something common that can act as a connecting thread to create strong ties between any two cities or countries. The star attraction of the show was the B-Boying battle of dance performances between Indian and Korean groups. But that doesn’t mean other programs at the festival were any less than that. Each program, in fact, had its own charm, individuality, and fun. Besides these, there were quiz events, video shows, and DJ. It was a unique kind of experience for local people, Korean Expatriates in India, and officials from both sides. It also aims to promote Indian tourists to visit Korea to witness the modern skyscrapers in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. Besides skyscrapers, modernization, high-tech subways, Seoul has a lot more to offer.

As a matter of fact, Seoul is currently the world’s 10th most economically powerful city. In addition, it is the second-largest metro city in the city. Seoul also has a number of World Heritage sites. On this occasion of Seoul India Friendship Festival, Seoul Mayor Park, Won-soon, says, “The Seoul-India Friendship Festival was a great success and helped to establish a deep cultural connect and understanding between the two countries. The festival facilitated cultural exchange between Delhi and Seoul in an entertaining and interactive manner. Such formats are a great medium for the audiences of different countries to intermingle and strengthen their bond”.

He adds, “We are deeply grateful to Indian authorities and partners who worked dedicatedly to make the festival a great accomplishment. Without their support and cooperation, we wouldn’t have been able to share the best of our heritage & culture with our Indian friends. We hope the initiative continues to support friendship and exchange between the two countries”. Seoul is the country of a unique combination of pop culture and Buddhism thus offering modern culture with a flavor of legendary heritage. We need to have more and more events like Seoul India Friendship Festival.
