She is not ready to compromise her self-respect and smile
at whatever it takes.
“Eventually, everybody reaches a stage of compromise
sooner or later.”
He tries to counsel her.
She asks him if he has a count of his so far.
He shamelessly smiles.
“How does it matter?”
“Does count makes a difference?”
She smiles with a glitter in her eyes
and shine on her cheeks.
“For you, it doesn’t actually.
Because you are living a fake life.
You don’t have self-respect and hence
no respect for others.
You care only about you.
In fact, you don’t even trust yourself.”
She continues –
“On the other hand, I know what you are
But still, I respect you.
Not because you deserve it.
Because I find you helpless
for your own sake.
And one who can’t do good to himself
can’t do it to anybody else.”
It is not a case of denial but pettiness.
“The day you understand your value,
you will understand what I am saying. Till then
your life is full of compromises. At least you are fair in one regard.
What you do with yourself, you expect it from others.” She concludes with a smile.
He is not in a position to understand it.
Because he is not poor in reception but retention.
Good things come and go mostly without even touching him.
That is the reason that he doesn’t understand
the value of many things in
his life.
Self-Respect Is not A Case of Denial
For instance, the value of values.
The value of happiness,
and the value of self-respect.
It is a matter of demeaning himself.
Unless he comes out of this vicious circle
nothing will change in his life.
She knows it well

He ignores it well
And time keeps passing on
without the visibility of a major portion of the iceberg
which is lurking beneath the water surface.
In fact, who will bell the wolf?
The wolf is compromising!
Or compromise itself is a wolf?
The danger is still lurking behind the bushes.
But she will never compromise her self-respect for sure.
