Pork sisig
In small or big gatherings, there are things that are must haves. Some of these are drinks, music, games, stories to tell, and one of the most important here is of course food. In the Philippines, there is a special regional dish that was developed overtime because of its rich social culture. Almost in every town, village or even street in Manila, you'll see a group of persons sharing their own personal daily experiences with each other partnered with their beverages and small snacks. There is a local term called "Pulutan" or Finger food that is very popular to every Filipino that in every gathering here it must be included. There are a lot to choose from as south-east Asian countries, where the Philippines is located are very popular with its unique finger foods history. But there is one that stood out from the rest and so it was called Sisig.Sisig, a Kapampangan (People from the province of Pampanga) term that has a meaning of "to snack on something" well, usually sour, with fruit taste, half-ripped and sometimes dipped on a variety of seasonings by definition.
This dish spread like fire nationwide with its rich and flavorful taste that will fill your mouth with every kind of taste there is satisfying your appetite to the fullest. And as it becomes more and more popular, one business stands out on perfecting its taste on getting the approval of the majority and was named "Sisig Hooray!".
To be honest, I rarely eat food that belongs to the finger food category but this one will be an exemption. Its hot, spicy, sweet, sour, salty combined with its creamy and crunchy texture, ohhh its super delicious! A lot of other business brands came but Sisig Hooray! is just the best as of the moment. Now it continues to flourish and discover more to cater to its customers on fulfilling the satisfaction of not only their tummies but their delicate tastes as well.
Some other sisig flavors include the following:
As you can see, it is now available to be served with rice and each box is prepared originally and fresh just to satisfy and live to the name of being the Filipinos' favorite pulutan dish. Sisig Hooray! actually put something like an additional ingredient to their sisig (because you can see how they actually make each order) creating its taste more delicious from the rest but of course it is a trade secret.
Base from my experience, prices may vary depending on the branch location but just to give you an idea, it may start from the minimum of P50 to P100 at the maximum. Some branches give meal packages where rice and a bottled drink are already included but I think franchise owned stores may still be different from the company owned stores.
You may see the list of their branches on the given site below and contact the numbers for interested franchisees.
The history of this dish may be very simple but it has flourished and is now far from where it came from. I am excited to see what it has more in the future and will be an avid customer as long as I can haha!
