The days when I was still a toddler, I remember going to our ancestral home every few months. It was a huge multistory home with lots of loving people and kids :) and had a big lawn with plants, fruit trees and a lovely kitchen garden. I used to love spending my time playing in that lawn as a child with my cousins, some of my early memories with that lawn is when my mom would make me sit in the middle of the lawn and before she knew I would crawl away to the flower patch and would start smelling the lovely plants while getting all dirty in the water sprinkled grass..
I still many a times feel like going back to that magical place but alas now that home doesn’t belong to us anymore and has been converted into a local school by the district. I still yearn for that scent and it makes me nostalgic whenever I smell fresh flowers, plants and the wet mud.
So, A few weeks ago, we went for a weekend getaway and since it is monsoons. One can imagine how the rains make enclosed areas smell badly. It was just the same case, as soon as we entered the home, we could smell the rain (it had raised the humidity level in the home). While making ourselves comfortable and opening up all the windows…I smelled that old familiar scent again…For a moment I thought it was the breeze coming from the window…but it didn’t stop there..The scent was everywhere...That beautiful fresh earthy floral smell was all over the place…I couldn’t help but ask my mom if she could smell it too or it was just in my mind… She instantly said…why..You don’t like it??I was like what?? Then she told me that she had just sprayed Ambi Pur’s Meadows & Rain Air Freshener...I couldn’t believe her until I checked the spray can myself… It was the same old scent, It was as if I was once again sitting in that beautiful lawn sniffing fresh fragrance from the flowers and the plants, there was a big smile on my face and my mom looked every bit clueless as to what had happened to me…I couldn’t explain her my nostalgia :) But I am extremely happy that now I have that fragrance with me which is very close to the one that I crave for!!
