ST James Clerkenwell...
It was a rare summers day in London recently and I just happened to have dropped a fare off in Clerkenwell and I thought I would take a look at some local bollards.
Within 30 seconds I came across a common type of bollard (above/bottom) found upon many streets and roads however this particular bollard was actually marked up with the name of the local church 'ST. James Clerkenwell'. The only other real difference with this type/design of bollard was the 'cannon' ball top finish appears to protrude a little more than usual.
Clerkenwell is a rather pleasant part of central London and certainly worth a visit/wander, the site the church stands on has been a place of worship for the best part of 900 years. Please do visit the website www.jc-church.org if you wish to find out a little more about the church and the area surrounding this rather pleasant bollard.
