Stanley Cup 2012 Preview

Stanley Cup

Tonight starts the Stanley Cup in New Jersey as the Devils take on the LA Kings. I will be the first person to tell you that I am not a hockey fan. It’s my husband second favorite sport behind baseball. Since we have been married I have tried to take a liking to hockey. I am slowing getting there.
My husband was supposed to write this blog, but because of the storm we had in Oklahoma City he didn't get a chance before work. He said he will probably write something this weekend. Stay tuned for that story.
Of course, this week is mega sports week and the RedHawks have a home stand. We are both working all the games. Yay! for a 12 game home stand. I may sound like I am complaining, but I love it!
Background about the teams:
New Jersey (48-28-6) is the sixth seed from the East. The Cinderella team, LA Kings (40-27-15), is the eighth seed from the West. The Devils got here by beating Florida (3) 4-3, Philadelphia (5) 4-1, and New York Ranger (1) 4-2.
Los Angeles defeated No. 1 Vancouver 4-1, No. 2 St. Louis 4-0, and No. 3 Phoenix 4-1.
These teams played each other twice this season with the Devils winning both games. This is the first both of these teams have played each other in the playoffs.
Team History in Stanley Cup:
The Devils are in the Stanley Cup for the fifth time and trying for their fourth title. The kings have reached the finals for the second time in team history. The Kings are on a hot streak with winning a league record eight straight playoff games. No team has done this in the same year before.

Questions:1. Who do you think will win the Stanley Cup? How many games?2. Do you care who wins the Stanley Cup?
