Stanley Cup

Posted on the 14 June 2012 by Lifeofasportswife @jessaolson
On Monday night, the LA Kings can finally say that they are Stanley Cup Champions. The Kings were the 8th seed out of the West. This is quite a feat. I'll be the first to admit that I am not an expert in hockey. I really didn't like or know that much about hockey until my husband.
One tradition that I absolutely love is that both teams still shake hands after the game. Another was watching each player on the winning team skates with the Stanley Cup. An interesting fact the announcers mentioned about the Stanley Cup is that is in only at the Hockey Hall of Fame 65 days out of the year.
The Conne Smythe Award (MVP for the Playoffs) went to the Kings Goalie, Jonathon Quick. He went 16-4 through the playoff. Save percentage .930 which is crazy ridiculous.
This blog is short for many reasons, but hopefully next year I can learn more about hockey to provide more quality blogs.
Check out the NHL Draft on June 22nd in Pittsburg, PA.
